Casino history

These four properties show different eras of casino hospitality — from a nineteenth-century resort to the modern integrated resort.

1863 — Monte-Carlo

The opening of Casino de Monte-Carlo and Hôtel de Paris helped form the international identity of the new Monte-Carlo district.

1998 — Bellagio

Bellagio opened on the former Dunes site. Its architecture and lake shifted attention toward a luxury-resort experience.

2007 — Cotai

The Venetian Macao became a major project in Cotai’s transformation into a district of large integrated resorts.

2010 — Marina Bay

Singapore’s development joined a hotel, convention centre, retail, museum, dining and regulated casino in one complex.
